TERMS OF COMPETITION

The following Terms of Competition and in addition to the FPG Local Rules Hardcard, and other Additional Local Rules published by the Committee, apply to the MADEIRA ATLANTIC GOLF CUP, a golf tournament organized and played in accordance with the Rules of Golf approved by R&A Rules Limited.

1. ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to amateur players over the age of 18, with a valid handicap, affiliated to the Portuguese Golf Federation or an international Golf Federation/Association. All players must present a valid handicap certificate issued by the respective “Handicapping Authority”. Entry subject to approval after verification of fulfilment of the stipulated requirements.

2. REGISTRATION

Entries must be made via the website https://www.madeiraatlanticgolfcup.com by 31st August 2024.

3. FORMAT

  • Date: 5th to 10th October 2024.
  • Courses: Palheiro Golf, Porto Santo Golf and Clube de Golfe Santo da Serra.
  • Form of Play: Tournament played over 54 holes, on three golf courses, in singles, Stableford net with ¾ of HCP. Each player will play a round of 18 holes on each of the 3 courses.
  • Tee-Time: Shotgun
  • Handicaps: Maximum WHS handicap allowed is 28 for men and women.
  • Tees : Men – yellow marks / Ladies – red marks
  • Draw : Draws will be published on the official competition website and will also be sent to each player by email.

4. RANKINGS AND PRIZES

The winners of the tournament will be known after totaling the points from the tournaments played on each course.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places Net. The 1st place Net is considered the winner of the tournament.

The result of the competition is considered to have been officially closed 15 minutes after the final results sheet has been posted on the board reserved for this purpose.

5. DECISIONS OF TIES

For the individual ranking in each round, in the event of a tie, the tie-breaks will be made based successively on the lowest HCP, the best scores obtained in the last nine holes of the course (hole 10 to 18), with the best score from the last 9 holes prevailing, followed by the score from the last 6 holes, the last 3 holes and finally the last hole of the course.

For the player’s final ranking, after the conclusion of the 3 rounds, tie-breaks will be made based successively on the lowest Handicap, the best score between the 3 rounds, or finally, by drawing lots.

6. DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

Distance measuring devices such as GPS or binoculars are permitted, as long as the slope function is inactive.

7. CODE OF CONDUCT

The wearing of clothing with any kind of commercial advertising, other than those of the organisation, sponsors, supporters or the field where the competition is being played, is not permitted. All players must wear the official polo shirt provided by the Organisation.

8. PENALTY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE WITH CONDITIONS ESTABLISHED IN THESE TERMS OF COMPETITION

Unless a different penalty is established, the violation of any condition established in these regulations implies the Disqualification of the Player.

9. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT OF THE TERMS OF COMPETITION

At any time the Committee may: supplement or amend these terms of competition; suspend or cancel any of the rounds and/or the tournament.

10. COMMITTEE AND REFEREES

Will be appointed in due course by the Organizer and the Courses involved.
